Battery Life has been a problem with iPhones going back several models. Apple has clearly noticed this problem and has made some effort to rectify it in the iPhone 7.

The question is...how have they done?

Well, for starters, battery life on the iPhone 7 still significantly lags the battery life on the LG G5, the HTC 10 and the Samsung Galaxy S7.

In a test of 3G call time, the iPhone 7's battery only lasted for 712 minutes, while the HTC 10 lead the test group with 1,859 minutes, followed by 1,759 minutes for the LG G5 and 1,492 minutes for the Samsung Galaxy S7.

The iPhone 7 also came in last in a test of battery life for internet use, but Apple came much closer in this test.

Apple has upgraded the battery in the iPhone 7, but it's not a huge upgrade. The iPhone 6s had a 1810 mAh battery and the iPhone 7 has a 1,960 mAh battery. The problem is not entirely the fault of the battery. How efficiently the phone's hardware and software use power is also a factor.

Since 65% of consumers cited longer bettery life as being the reason they chose to upgrade to the iPhone 7, this may turn into a lingering issule for the folks at Apple.
